Created on 01/20/2015, CAJOU DU CENTER was approved as a free zone company by decree NF21 n°268 Vol2/15. CAJOU DU CENTER is an agro-industrial complex for the production and processing of cashew nuts located in Sokodé. The Company owns a 553 hectare cashew plantation on an estate with a total area of ​​1835 ha. CAJOU DU CENTER also has a factory for processing cashew nuts into cashew kernels with a capacity of 9,000 tonnes of raw nuts or 1,800 tonnes of cashew kernels per year. Its various value chains employ 500 people, 90% of whom are women. Committed to the quality approach since its creation, in particular through the layout of its premises which respects the principle of moving forward and the HACCP system solidly implemented and maintained by a team of young professionals on site. CAJOU DU CENTER has been engaged in organic production and processing since 2019, the year in which it obtained its first EOS & NOP certificate issued by ECOCERT and which has been renewed every year until today.

As part of a dynamic of perfectionism, CAJOU DU CENTER has also been committed since 2023 to the implementation of the British Retail Consortium Global Standard (BRCGS) which is a global reference in food safety and obtained its first BRCGS certificate issued by AIB international, also renewed every year until today.

CAJOU DU CENTER is also developing beekeeping with 1,000 hives installed on its 553 hectares of cashew trees, thus boosting its cashew nut production thanks to bee-assisted pollination and by producing monofloral honey from the cashew tree and wax. certified organic (NOP & EOS) by ECOCERT.

PRODUCTION

CAJOU DU CENTER sources its supplies from its own plantation of 553 hectares and plantations of 2,400 hectares from a network of 1,220 small farmers which was set up by the company and certified organic by ECOCERT while advocating fair trade. This is how CAJOU DU CENTER was able to guarantee a market for small producers by ensuring a permanent supply of its factory.

PROCESSING

CAJOU DU CENTRE is committed to organic processing and has had its finished organic products certified by ECOCERT SAS.

Its technological watch has enabled it to acquire state-of-the-art equipment guaranteeing better performance and the health safety of its products.

The process is organized in 4 sections namely:

  • Storage – Calibration
  • Cooking -Shelling
  • Peeling
  • Grading – Packaging

QUALITY MANAGEMENT

  • CAJOU DU CENTER has been certified organic (NOP & EOS) by ECOCERT since 2019 with annual renewals;
  • Implementation of the HACCP system since 2019 with annual updates;
  • CAJOU DU CENTER has been BRCGS certified by AIB international since 2023 with also annual renewals.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Our different value chains employ 500 people, 90% of whom are women. Pre-financing of small farmers with a market price policy to which are added quality and grouping premiums.

Monitoring of the health of workers in the company by a health worker

Improvement of the living conditions of the populations of surrounding villages through the creation and extension of a drinking water supply network and electrification.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIETAL IMPACT

As part of the implementation of its factory in SAGBADAÏ CAJOU DU CENTRE has mandated a firm to conduct an environmental and societal impact study.

At the end of this study, CAJOU DU CENTRE was offered an environmental and societal management plan, the implementation of which made it possible to remedy the shortcomings identified.

Thus, by decree 011/MERF/ANGE/DEIE/CCE dated 13/03/2015 the certificate of environmental and societal compliance was issued to CAJOU DU CENTRE.

As secondary activities, CAJOU DU CENTRE is also specialized in the production of cashew apple and tropical fruit juice, and in organic beekeeping with 1000 beehives installed in its plantation and certified organic by ECOCERT S.A.

The management staff of the company mainly consists of the Principal Manager, who is the founder and his collaborators

Mr. Ibrahim KANGAYE

The Principal Manager

the founder and main shareholder of CAJOU DU CENTRE. He holds a master’s degree in business administration and management and a license in law. He has a solid experience in industrial business management because apart from the agro-industrial sector where he has been involved for more than 5 years, he has also been for 20 years promoter and General Manager of three industrial production units of roof tiles in Togo, Benin and Niger.

Mr. AVODEH Messanvi

The Production Manager

holds a professional master’s degree in Food Hygiene and Quality Management and a professional license in agrifood technology. He is the director of industrial production. He coordinates the entire transformation process and has 7 years of experience in the agri-food sector.

Ms TCHAA Houloumié Amina

Quality Manager

Holder of a Professional Degree in Food Science and Technology. She watches over the quality and conformity of products as well as the production process and its organization in connection with legal and normative obligations. She has 03 years of professional experience.

Mr. KPASSAGOU Richard

The Director of Agricultural Operations

assistant agricultural engineer. He is the manager of the agricultural and beekeeping operation and has 10 years of experience in farming
